STATEMENT
Director’s Statement
This “BiodiverCity” was made as a Fantasy short film project, and the idea was come from the actual ongoing project “BiodiverCity” by World Economic Forum (WEF). Because one interesting thing as an idea came up to me in my mind that “when the safety of society as a whole is emphasized, individual liberties are deprived.”.
I personally strongly believe that the three-year period from 2020 to 2022 was a meaningful period that taught us what we should learn. Of course, I feel very sorry for the people who have been affected by the coronavirus, and the people injured by corona vaccine. But moreover we, the citizens, really need to take it seriously to think whether the government’s methods and policies were really always correct or not for the sake of the next generation.
When people have a huge fear in their mind, they’re likely to take all means in order to escape from it. At times, they may even become violent towards others. It’s because someone is always terrorizing. But think about it, we can calmly take your time to understand and do your own choice in our human society. And we know there are no answers on the internet. It’s up to you. We cannot know what the truth is. Our human history always proves that.
In fact, over the past three years, the entertainment industry, as well as governments, mainstream, and experts, have taken the reactions to exclude individuals who have opinions that differ from the mood of society. I feel that we need to be aware that we have clearly experienced the message that “you cannot live or work unless you follow government policies.” I assume that the government and large organizations will continue to make efforts toward a sustainable society business, but I feel more that the excessive society will become even more difficult for us to live in. The theme was my personal anxiety. It feels like quiet totalitarianism is just around the corner.
